Tailored project

As part of a course in collaboration with the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum, we began by reconstructing an archival Balenciaga jacket—an exercise in understanding tailoring, proportions, and historical design. Following this, I developed an original design inspired by transformation: a fleeting moment where the body emerges from a cocoon, caught between structure and dissolution.

The jacket features sheer mesh and organic felting at the top, transitioning into sharply tailored fabric below. The trousers were constructed from jacket sleeves, with the sleeve head forming the waistband, creating a new cocoon-like silhouette. I also designed a bag inspired by Balenciaga’s show numbers and collaborated on butterfly-wing eyewear—both reflecting the concept of metamorphosis and evolution.
